The custom of walking along the flower and welcome the Spring Festival has a long history, it is different from other and has itself feature. The custom of walking along the flower street in Huadu district begins 7 or 8 days before the Spring Festival, every town chooses one street to sell flower specially, and finish market until late of the end of the year. Flower venders get together the appointed street from every quarter to sell different kinds of basin orange, flower and form floristic world these days. Especially after Huadu sets up south flower trading center, it becomes flower capital in Huadu district, when Spring Festival comes soon, ceremonious inauguration ceremony will be hold every year, the flower peasant, flower merchantmen from every quarter gather here and represents uncommon jollification. 
  
On the occasion of new spring festival, the lion dancing as celebration activity are very popular among the folks of Huadu District like various regions of the Pearl River Delta, and some big natural villages all have their own lion-dancing troupes, and some labor unions or enterprises in towns and cities also have their lion-dancing troupes. The lion-dancing troupe stages their lion-dancing performance usually to celebrate some festivals. The liveliest one is the spring festival. Nearly all lion-dancing troupes perform village-by-village, street-by-street and celebrate the occasion of the spring festival before a household, store and factory. People usually hang up a bundle of lettuce and red gift packets. The lion-dancing troupe comes, and with the rhythm of the gong and drum, the lions are dancing, which symbolizes liveliness and pioneering and is very inspiring. The lion-dancing activities last from the 1st day of the lunar New Year to the 7th day and are widespread over both villages and cities.
