Zhuhai rent its airport to Hong Kong airport for 20 years after the cooperation pact is approved by central government.

According to the cooperation agreement, Hong Kong airport will rent the facilities of Zhuhai airport for 20 years before buying its stakes.

Zhuhai airport will focus on cargo service, this helps Hong Kong airport to release its nearly full-load cargo flow. Meanwhile, Zhuhai airport will offer cheap flight for passengers in the future.

At present, Zhuhai airport is far from making efficient use of its facilities. It received 0.75 million passengers per year, only 6% of its designed passenger flow. The Zhuhai-Hong Kong deal is expected to inject new blood to this airport.
