People from all circles of Hong Kong organized activities to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to the motherland Thursday (Jul 1).
Ngai, 55, together with his wife, joined the activities organized by his company in this special holiday. The company which Ngai worked for arranged a day-trip for some 100 staff and one of the stops was Hong Kong Museum of History.
"I felt excited when I viewed the clips about the ceremony (for Hong Kong's return to the motherland) in the museum. I still remember on that day, I watched television with my family, feeling honored when I saw the national flag fly," said Ngai.
Ngai said that it was meaningful for citizens to visit the museum on this special day as they can review the development of Hong Kong from the past to present.
"Although we did encounter some hard times after Hong Kong's return, I'm sure that Hong Kong is going to be better as we all can see that our motherland always provide us with support and confidence," said Ngai.
On the Avenue of Stars, which features the cinematic history of Hong Kong, in Tsim Sha Tsui, a number of music and dance performances where shown in front of the visitors, among them was the Yung's family.
"We have just had a pleasant journey round Hong Kong, I hope to take this chance to travel around the city with my family in this special day as well as to educate my children to know more about Hong Kong," Mr. Yung told this reporter.
Mr. Yung's eight-year-old daughter Yung Chiyu said she went to the New Territories to eat lychee.
"I love Hong Kong which is a beautiful place where you can find lots of fun," said the girl.
Mrs. Chow and her family chose to visit the Hong Kong Park Lotus Exhibition in the holiday. Mrs. Chow wished Hong Kong prosperity and stability as she believed that a city with stability is important for the healthy growth of children.
