
The final Asian Games Village proposal has been selected by experts' votes. The wining No. 5 proposal received nine votes; both the No. 3 and No. 4 proposals were ranked second by a one-vote margin. After reviewing the proposals, experts said that a good proposal should utilize the venues after the Games, as well as deeply explore and reflect Guangzhou's cultural background and characteristics.
Recently, the 2010 Asian Games Village Planning Commission held a meeting to review the Asian Games Village proposals. Under the supervision of the Guangzhou Notarization Office, two rounds of voting by secret ballot were conducted to select the best one among 6 proposals.
The No. 5 proposal "one passionate heart and two wings" was designed by the South China University of Technology and the Zhongshan City Planning & Design Institute; the No. 4 proposal was designed by the Guangzhou Urban Planning Design & Research Institute and its partners; the No. 3 proposal was designed by the Shanghai Institute of Architectural Design & Research and its partners.
