Athens Olympic champion Guo Jingjing is set to lead a 14-member Chinese diving squad heading for the 12th FINA World Championships, The Chinese swimming association announced here on Wednesday.
The FINA World Championships will be held on March 17-April 1. The Chinese diving team unveiled the 14-member squad after warming up here for one month.
Besides two-time Olympic gold winner Guo, Athens Olympic champion Wu Minxia and Li Ting were also enlisted in the line-up. But Olympic champion Peng Bo, Hu Jia and Yang Jinghui were all sidelined due to injuries.
In Melbourne, Guo will pair up Wu Minxia rather than Li Ting in the women's three-meter springboard synchronized event. Guo and Wu notched up the gold of the event at Athens Olympics but were separated then. Guo won the gold with Li at last edition world championships in Montreal, Canada two year's ago.
