Chinese men's 110m hurdler Liu Xiang remains in the number 1 position in the latest version of the International Association of Athletics Federations' world rankings released by on Jan. 3.
Last year, Liu set a new world record of 12.88 seconds for his event and later went on to set a new Asian record. He currently tops the rankings with 1,400 points, a score that has also secured him 6th place of the general rankings for all male athletes.
Cuba's Dayron Robles is second on the rankings for the hurdles with 1387 points, while America's Terrence Trammell and Allen Johnson are in third and fourth positions.
