Latest Updated by 2004-06-07 17:38:11

Guangzhou Citizens have an opportunity to get close to a number of Shiwan art ceramics made by famous local artists in the Shiwan Art Ceramics Original Works Exhibition, which is held in the city recently.

Altogether more than 80 ceramic works of 25 famous craftsmen are displayed in this exhibition. Featuring themes such as people, animals and miniascapes, the exhibition indicates the highest level of the Shiwan ceramic art in Guangdong.

The Shiwan ceramics, production of which started as early as Tang Dynasty, Ancient China, enjoys the fame that "Shiwan tile is one of the best in the world".
