A priceless collection of twenty-one Buddha's relics will soon be displayed to public in the thousand-year-old Hualin Temple, Guangzhou, as part of the activity "Discover Xiguan Folk Culture".
The relics were found in Hualin Temple years ago. It is the biggest number of relics found in one place in China's archaeology.
"Xiguan" refers in general to the area in Liwan District ranging from Xicun in the north and the Pearl River in the south, Renmin Road in the east and Xiaobei River in the west, which also generally meant the outskirts area neighboring the west city gate of Guangzhou in the Ming and Qing dynasty. It is the place nurturing typical Lingnan culture in Guangzhou, and is famous for its ten-thousand-year-old ancient jades, thousand-year-old temples and centuries-old shops.
With an area of 400,000-sq.m., the planned "Xiguan Folk Culture Zone" will be located west to Longjin West Road, including the Liwan Lake Park, the Xiguan Ancient Grand Mansions, the Renwei Temple, the Antique Street and the to-be-built Xiguan Deli Street.
