After three years of preparation, the TV series about late Chinese painter Zhang Daqian is scheduled to begin shooting in March and is expected to hit Chinese screens before the end of this year.
Hong Kong star Tony Leung will replace Chinese mainland star Chen Daoming in the lead role, as the artist.
Veteran actress Siqin Gaowa will replace Liu Xiaoqing to act as Zhang Daqian's mother and Pan Hong will play his lover's mother.
The lead actress has not been confirmed yet, but it will probably be either South Korean star Kim Hee Sun or Chinese mainland star Xu Qing.
