Services on Metro Line 3, the busiest subway line in the city, will be increased during morning rush hours, following a much-welcomed similar move on Metro Line 2.

The Guangzhou metro operator announced that from May 27, three additional short-distance trains will run between Tonghe and Dashi stations on Metro Line 3 during morning rush hours from 7:50 am to 8:45 am. The additional services are expected to boost the transportation capacity for passengers bound for Tiyu Xilu by 30 percent and shorten the train departure intervals to 3.5 minutes. Passengers bound for Zhujiang New Town and Daishi Station are reminded to take note of metro announcements and may take a short-distance train without having to transfer at Tiyu Xilu.
