Zhuhai-Macao Custom Man-made Island has taken shape.

The will-be world’s longest cross-sea bridge, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, is planned to finish construction in 2016, according to Nanfang Daily report yesterday.

The mega bridge is 49.968 km long and will cost over 70 billion RMB (about 11 billion USD). With a section of 35.578 km on sea, the bridge is a hard assignment for builders.

The Phase II survey of the bridge has started at the beginning of this year and will be finished by the end of June.

The main bridge section construction may kick off next April.
