The Zhongshan section of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity light railway (Nanfang Daily)
Passengers heading to Macau will soon be able to take the train when the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity light railway is put into operation next year. This new line will link 5 cities (Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Jiangmen) and create the much expected one-hour proximity circle for cities within the PRD.
Early yesterday morning (Nov. 17th) the Ronggui Grand Bridge in the district of Shunde in Foshan was finally completed and other parts of the line in Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Jiangmen are said to be advancing smoothly. By March 2009, the main work will be finished and the whole line will open to traffic next autumn.
