North Guangzhou's Baiyun New Town, located around the former Baiyun Airport, is scheduled for a face-lift. According to the newly-released "Redevelopment of the Guangzhou Baiyun New Town Area", it will be built into six new communities, called Huangshi, Xiaogang, Jichang (Airport), Yunshan, Chuangyi and Keziling.

Four new buildings for cultural activities

In addition to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center and the New Guangzhou Gymnasium, four new buildings are scheduled to increase the number of cultural outlets in this area, including an Exhibition Center, the Guangdong Painting Academy, the Guangzhou Museum and the Guangdong Performance Center.

Two metro lines connected to the north CBD

Metro Line 2 (north-south) and Line 14 (west-east) will cut across the new CBD (central business district), with future track projects planned for the area.

More parks to be created around Baiyun Mountain

New parks will be built around Baiyun Mountain, including Feixiang Park to the south and Community Park to the west, increasing the rate of reforestation by 40% in the area.
