Hong Kong cheongsams exhibited in Guangzhou

Fashion is a mirror of history. From April 25, a cheongsam exhibition in Guangzhou tells the story of 20th century Hong Kong through a collection of 205 gowns, China Daily reports.

It reflects great progress in gender equality as more women in Hong Kong were getting educated and employed after the May Fourth Movement. The event also demonstrates the pride Hong Kong residents have for their cultural heritage, passed down through generations, according to China Daily.

Opening Hours: 9:00 - 17:00, closed on Mondays

Admission: Free admission tickets can be obtained from the Ticket Office of Guangdong Museum from 8: 50 a.m. to 4 p.m. Valid ID is required for one person to get one ticket. Tickets are valid on the day of issue only.
