Today a unusual meteorological phenomena appeared in Guangdong. Many citizens in Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen witnessed magnificent sky with half white and half blue. Photos of skys went viral on the Internet. Enjoy!

Zhang Dong, chief forecaster of Provincial Meteorological Observatory, said that this neat cloud band generates at the altitude of about 3,000 meters and is a kind of medium-high cloud. The principle behind it is that today there is a thin wet layer at 3000 meters’ sky which is dry above and below. The cloud is made up of water vapor, forming a thin cloud band on the wet layer. Today, the relatively strong northwest wind helped form a clear border. Zhang Dong said that this was a relatively rare but normal phenomenon that won’t last for a long time.
