Autumn in Guangzhou: A city in bloom

In September, Guangzhou hosted the 2017 Guangzhou International Floral Art Exhibition and the World Flower Council’s (WFC) Annual Summit.

The month of October, dreary in most places, is still alive with flowers in tropical Guangzhou, with cosmos sulphureus, ceiba insignis and bougainvillea all coming into season. So where can you best admire (and of course photograph) these flowers during these (hopefully) cooler autumn days? Here are several fine choices:

Wushan Campus, South China University of Technology

How to get there: Take metro Line 3 and get off at Wushan Station (五山), then go out of Exit C.


Dongxiao Nan Interchange

How to get there: Take metro Line 8 and get off at Xiaogang Station (晓港), then go out of Exit D.


Haizhu Lake Park

How to get there: Take metro Line 3 and get off at Datang Station (大塘), then go out of Exit B.


Yuntai Garden

How to get there: Take one of the following buses and get off at Yuntai Garden Station (云台花园), Bus No. 24, 63, 240, 245, 285, or 522.
