A heart-shaped field of rape flowers was recently photographed in Yongfu County in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Tourists enjoyed the field's beauty on Feb. 13 and 14.
Lovers' plums were in full bloom in an eastern suburb of Nanjing, Jiangsu province on Feb. 14. The plums, which always bloom within a fixed period around Valentine's Day, are a rare species named by the academic Chen Junyu. In Nanjing, the plums are planted on 1,553 mu (about 1.02 million square meters) of land, with 35,000 individual plum trees.
This year's Nanjing International Plum Blossom Festival will open on Feb. 17, 2017.

Nowhere is this clearer than in the case of Deng Yingtang, an 87-year-old man in Nanchong, Sichuan province, who arranged a special Valentine's Day gift for his wife, 86-year-old Li Mingqing. The couple took a series of photos to commemorate their 70th wedding anniversary, West China City Daily reported on Feb. 14.
