Attention! 3-day temporary transport restriction in Hengqin starts TODAY

The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has started a 3-day temporary transport restriction since 9 AM on June 20, according to the latest announcement from the authorities in the zone.

Now personnel and vehicles are not allowed to leave, except those with permits and responsible for the pandemic prevention and control, emergency rescue, healthcare, emergency response, material security, and logistics. Car-hailing and bus services are suspended.

Residents can apply to their community with a valid negative COVID-19 report within 24 hours if some emergency happens.

At the same time, primary and middle schools started online teaching, and kindergartens suspended classes. Dine-in services have been suspended. Bars, KTVs, theaters, cinemas, gyms, and other closed places stopped services.

Medical institutions, shopping malls, and supermarkets keep operating to guarantee daily supplies for the residents in the zone. Express delivery and takeaway services are normally provided to residents.

During the three-day restriction, a daily mass COVID-19 test will be conducted, and all residents in the zone are required to participate.

●Tips for cross-border workers

All cross-border employees living in Zhuhai or entering the zone from Macao should declare their health information on the WeChat mini-program "Health Zhuhai" 12 hours before entering Zhuhai through Hengqin Port. And they can only pass the port after local communities confirm that they have the conditions for self-quarantine at home.

With the certificate issued by the local community and personal protective equipment, they must take the designated shuttle bus directly back to their residence, self-quarantine at home for seven days, and monitor their health condition at home for another seven days.

They should report to the community within half an hour after arriving. People without the conditions for self-quarantine at home will be arranged for centralized isolation at their own expense.
