The number of fatality in the Indonesia's military plane crash on Wednesday reached to 98, with 15 others survived and scores others are still missing, Air Force spokesman Bambang Sulistio said Wednesday.
"The number of death has been 98, 15 others survive," the spokesman told reporters here. Searching of a number of victims was underway, he said.
The Hercules plane belonging to Indonesian Air Force was reported to have plunged to the homes on the ground as it crashed and caught fire in Magetan. The plane C-130 Hercules Alpha 1325 was on its way from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta for Biak in Papua when it crashed only four kilometers from Iswahyudi Airport.
A Metro television footage showed the body of the plane was broken into two parts and burst into flames.
The plane was carrying at least 109 passengers and crew, including troops and their families. At least 10 children were among them.
