Romania should boost commercial exchanges with China and other dynamic economies, President Traian Basescu said Wednesday (Jan 21st) in Bucharest.

The president made the statement while receiving the diplomatic corps in Bucharest.

"Particularly in the context of the ongoing global economic crisis, we need to scale up commercial exchanges with dynamic economies, such as China, South Korea, Japan and India," the Romanian president said.

Basescu said that the development and modernization process in those countries creates great opportunities for Romanian enterprises, while Romania also can develop into an attractive market for companies from those regions.

The president said Romania would like to revive its business ties with Middle East countries, the Gulf states and the Asian countries, while at the same time build stronger relationships with African and Latin American nations.
