Special report: Iran Nuclear Crisis
The Iranian army test-fired a sub-to-surface missile on Sunday in the Gulf during the ongoing massive military maneuver, the state television reported.
"Our army has successfully test-fired a top speed long-range sub-to-surface missile off the Persian Gulf," Navy Commander Gen. Sajjad Kouchaki was quoted as saying by the television.
According to the video report, the missile was launched from a submarine and hit a planned target on the surface of the water within a kilometer.
The missile test was part of Iran's large-scale war games. Iran has tested some other weapons in the past 10 days, including 10 short-range surface-to-surface missiles and a kind of anti-aircraft equipment called "air mine system."
