U.S. President George W. Bush was named as the worst president of the country since the end of the World War II in a latest national poll, CBS News reported Thursday.
For the question "who is the worst U.S. president since World War II?" the Quinnipiac University survey found 34 percent of the voters chose Bush.
He was followed by Richard Nixon (17 percent) and Bill Clinton (16 percent).
Ronald Reagan was the top choice as the best president, with 28 percent votes.
The poll reflected deep partisan divisions. Bush was ranked worst by 56 percent of Democrats and 35 percent of independent voters but only 7 percent of Republicans.
Reagan, on the other hand, was named as the best president by 56 percent of Republicans and 25 percent of independent voters but only 7 percent of Democrats.
Democrats say Clinton is the best and Republicans say he is the worst.
The May 23-30 poll surveyed 1,534 registered voters nationwide.
