According to the Guangdong Economics and Information Commission, the “i-Guangdong” project will enable residents to connect with free, unlimited Wi-Fi in most public areas within three years. Guangzhou and Shenzhen might achieve that goal by the end of this year, according to GEIC officials.

“i-Guangdong users can login with cell phones, pads and computers in the same time with one account for untimed public Wi-Fi for free,” said Lai Tiansheng, Director General of the Guangdong Economic and Information Commission.

User accounts and passwords will be saved after finishing login authentication after the first time, so it will not be necessary to apply for a new password every time. A 24-hour bilingual user service system on that page will help foreigners read necessary information for login directions.
