Dongguan car and robot makers strutted their stuff in front of local media in April as a group of 58 representatives from 20 media visited Yong Qiang Vehicles Manufacturing Co., Ltd and Songshan Lake International Robot Industry Base.

"While nowadays more private cars are running on the roads, people have forgotten about those special vehicles," said Yang Lei, manager of strategy and branding of Dongguan Yong Qiang Vehicles Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Yong Qiang is an enterprise integrating R&D, production, and sales of special equipment for transportation, fire extinguishing, rescue, and disaster relief.

Yong Qiang's products have received orders from Australia, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The company has more than 200 patents.

Yang said that the initiation of "One Belt, One Road" strategy has enabled the company to explore overseas markets. With the help of foreign governments and overseas Chinese, Yong Qiang has started building an international sales network.

"In this hall products from five companies stand for different categories of robots. For instance, the machines for packing sausages are for mass production," said a company secretary surnamed Mo.

Dongguan’s robot industry base has a total investment of about RMB 270 million and is invested by Qing Shui Bay Angel Investment Fund established by headed by Li Zexiang and a number of robot experts including Googol Technology Limited, DJI Innovations and QKM Automation.

The company will spearhead three enterprise clusters including the movement control and high-end equipment enterprise cluster, the industry and service robot enterprise cluster and the high-end consumer products enterprise cluster, according to company officials.
