[Week 18] Lin Shaochun Heads Guangdong Political and Legal Affairs

The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has appointed Lin Shaochun a member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Province. The CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee appointed Lin Shaochun as the Secretary of Political and Legal Affairs of the province, replacing Ma Xingrui.

Lin graduated from the China University of Geosciences in 1982 and worked at the Guangzhou Geological Research Institute of New Technology through the 1980s.

During the 1990s Lin held high-level positions in the Guangdong Supervision Department, the General Office of Guangdong Provincial Government and the Administrative Committee of Huizhou Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone.

In the 2000s, Lin served as Vice Director General in the General Office of Guangdong Provincial Government, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yangjiang Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor and Acting Mayor of the Yangjiang Municipal Government.

In the past five years, Lin has held positions in the China Executive Leadership Academy and was Vice Governor of the Guangdong Provincial Government.
