On the morning of June 8, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. announced that the total power consumption of the whole of Guangdong province in the first week of June this year had increased by 5.6 percent year-on-year. Power consumption is a "barometer" indicating the economic and social development situation. Thus the Governor of Guangdong Province Huang Huahua said that Guangdong's economy has weathered the most difficult period.

Yuan Maozhen, Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Board Chairman of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., also pointed out that Guangdong's power consumption will undoubtedly grow in the future. China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. has decided to invest over 100 billion yuan over the next two years in order to construct a power grid which is reasonably structured, safe and reliable, technologically advanced and moderately-ahead to serve Guangdong as early as possible.
