In order to improving transportation of Guangzhou Inner Ring Road, all 1.5-tons and above trucks are banned on the Rings from yesterday on.
According to the statistics, trucks account for 20 percent of the car flow on Inner Ring Road, but are the causes of about 50 percent of the traffic accidents and are involved in 70 percent of the trouble cases on the Ring Road.
A traffic police reveals that the measure will not increase transport pressure of other road in the city, for the big trucks are banned in rush hours in most of the main roads.
