An Airbus A380 plane on Tuesday (Oct 23) morning arrived in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, first station of its six-day flight in China.
Airbus operated demonstration flights and showcased a fully equipped and decorated A380. The A380 for the China mission, coded MSN007, is capable of carrying 519 passengers.聽 The A380, which burns 2.9 liters of gasoline per passenger for every hundred kilometers, can fly 15,000 kilometers, 15 percent more than its peers, while the operational cost is 20 percent less.
The airbus is scheduled to leave for Shanghai at 14:00 p.m today, and will fly to Beijing on Oct. 25.
To date, the A380 has received 189 orders or commitments from 16 customers worldwide, five of which come from China Southern.
