45.2 percent of Guangdong women agreed that to have a good marriage is more important than to have a good career, according to a survey done by All-China Women Federation Guangdong branch.
According to the survey, 75.1 percent of women choose to have a job "even when they were rich or their husbands got very well paid", 13 percentage point lower than the national average. However, 45.2 percent of Guangdong women believe having a good husband is more important than a good career. The women with less schooling are more intended to depend on their husband for living. Experts said the result shows many local women are comfortable to accept the thousands-year Chinese tradition "depending on their husbands".
About finding a job, 37.9 percents of the women think that face is more important than brain in job hunting, including 42.1 percent of the women with college schooling.
In the topic of sex, 47.5 and 50.3 percents of women and men in the survey choose to be tolerant to their husbands/wives' occasional adultery. Among the women, the group with college education shows the least tolerant.
