| WANG YANG, former Party chief of Chongqing Municipality, was appointed Party secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC on Saturday, succeeding Zhang Dejiang.
Wang, 52, is a native of Anhui Province.
He was elevated to the 25-member Politburo, the Party鈥檚 decision-making body, during the Party congress in October.
A statement from the CPC Central Committee on December, 1st said Zhang Dejiang, 61, who is a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, is no longer the Guangdong Party chief. New appointment will come out soon.
