Modern agriculture development stressed in document

Developing modern agriculture is the Chinese government's top priority in building a new socialist countryside, according to a central government document released on Monday (Jan 29th).

The document, jointly released by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, is the first set of major policies to be released this year and focuses on rural development for the fourth consecutive year.

China encourages college graduates to work in countryside 

College and vocational school graduates will be further encouraged to work in the countryside, says a strategic document issued on Monday.

The document, issued by the State Council, China's cabinet, and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is dubbed the No.1 central government document. It outlines key policies to boost rural development.

China to facilitate farm produce exports 

China is to provide more aid to farm produce exporters, aiming to spur the export boom.

According to a document, issued by the State Council and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Monday, China will build more farm produce exporting bases and promote product sanitation and quality inspection.

China asks farmers to pursue sustainable agricultural production

China unveiled on Monday wide-ranging polices to improve sustainable agriculture and raise the incomes of hundreds of millions of farmers.

It's the fourth consecutive year the so-called No. 1 Document has targeted agriculture and issues concerning the countryside, signaling again that the government's top priority is to help improve the lives of the country's 800 million farmers.

Grain prices start to level off in China

The grain price hikes that have occurred in China in recent months are gradually winding down, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Wheat prices, which spearheaded the price climb last November, have dropped for the third consecutive week in Henan, Shandong and Hebei provinces, major grain production bases.
