PPRD regional cooperation sees its latest development recently in Guangzhou: the first Mayors Forum of Provincial Capital Cities in Pan-Pearl River Delta opens and nine mainland members of PPRD are ready to strengthen food and drug administration.

The first Mayors Forum of Provincial Capital Cities in Pan-Pearl River Delta opens yesterday (Sept. 16) in Guangzhou, coinciding with the opening of the 2004 Guangzhou Fair. Mayors exchange their opinions on city competitiveness, regional cooperation and development. The nine capital cities of PPRD, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Changsha, Nanning, Haikou, Chengdu, Guiyang and Kunming clinch a cooperation agreement at the conference today.

Besides, nine provinces of PPRD region are to strengthen their cooperation in the field of food and drug administration to insure the safety of food and drug in PPRD region. And a frame agreement on cooperation between food and drug administrations will be signed in the end of this year.

This shows PPRD cooperation is experiencing an expansion of scope and is gaining pragmatic progress.
