The project Pan Pearl River Delta (Hengqin) Economic Zone becomes a hot topic in Guangdong, Macao chiefs' talk in Guangzhou today (Nov 30th).
On the Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Conference 2004, which kicks off today, Zhang Dejiang, Secretary of Guangdong CPC Committee, Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong and Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Executive Chief of Macao SAR hail the fruitful GD-Macao cooperation since last plenary, saying the cooperation has contributed to the PPRD's successful launching and a 20% growth in Macao's economy this year.
They discuss on the establishment of Pan Pearl River Delta (Hengqin) Economic Zone in Hengqin, a Zhuhai island neighboring Macao, and call the project a strategy move to optimize Macao's industrial structure and to expand its service industry.
