China's Ministry of National Defense said in Beijing Thursday (Mar. 11) that the three-day fourth Sino-US Military Maritime and Air Safety Working Group meeting under the Military Maritime Consultative Agreement (MMCA) mechanism concluded in Shanghai Thursday (Mar. 11).
During the meeting, the two sides held frank and constructive consultations on issues concerning Sino-US military safety at sea.
Both sides agreed that the consultations played a positive role in solving the issues on maritime military safety.
The two sides also exchanged views on launching joint search and rescue exercises within the year.
The US working group also met Zhou Borong, deputy chief of staff of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy and visited Chinese navy frigate "Lianyungang".
