Shenzhen Airlines will add 1,000 flights during the Spring Festival travel season, according to a package plan released yesterday (Dec 14), two months ahead of the Spring Festival holidays.
Most of the flights will depart Shenzhen (548) and Guangzhou (426) from Jan 28 to Feb 28, flight operations manager Yang Weihua, said yesterday.
The added flights will operate on the main routes for family reunions such as Changsha, Xiangfan, Changde, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Guiyang, Haikou and Hefei. Flights to these destinations take less than two hours.
In addition some flights will operate on tourist routes to Harbin and Changchun in the north and Lijiang, Sanya and Guilin. The airline will also add temporary flights if necessary and promote 50,000 discounted round-trip tickets for flights arriving in Shenzhen and Guangzhou from Jan 1 to Feb 13, Chinese New Year's Eve, and departing Feb 16 to 30.
The discounted tickets cover more than 80 routes operating between Shenzhen, Guangzhou and other Chinese cities. The tickets are generally 60-70 percent off.
