The Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee is pleased to start up a reading programme in Guangzhou, both promoting reading and inculcating the 16th Asian Games culture among citizens.

At the launch ceremony

Supported by 170 thousand volunteers and tens of thousands of readers, Guangzhou is scheduled to establish 2,000 mobile library stations across the city step by step, ending up as the most ambitious reading programme across the nation.

Enjoy reading!

As introduced, it could simply start with one book from the reading programme. Once you have finished the reading, you could go to one of the mobile library stations and exchange for another one. In this way, a mobile library has been set up, which used to be a popular way to encourage public reading in Europe in 1960's.

At the launch ceremony, more than 5,000 books have been collected and the first batch of mobile library stations has been set up.
