Guangdong's power consumption went up 8 percent year on year in June, the first monthly rise since last October. The rise indicates Guangdong's enterprises are having more orders and the province's economy is recovering.

The east, west and north Guangdong regions had a bigger rise than the Pearl River Delta. In June, Pearl River Delta used 23.1 billion kwh of power, up 4.2 percent year on year, while east Guangdong used 2.4 billion, up 15.4 percent, west Guangdong 1.2 billion, up 21.3 percent and north Guangdong 2.9 billion, up 8.7 percent.

And the manufacturing sector's power use drop slowed down in the last month while the tertiary industry's power consumption kept going up as the industry expands. It shows Guangdong's effort in developing its service industry has started to work.
