At a meeting in Hong Kong on June 27th, Yuan Yue, Vice Director of GAGOC Market Development, disclosed that tickets for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games would start advance sales, online, in January of next year. This is to include normal tickets together with a series of preferential products such as suite tickets.
Yuan Yue said that the official ticket website would open at the time of the official one-year countdown of the Asian Games in November of this year. The tickets will be principally sold online. As for the ticket prices, Yuanyue remarked that there was no decided plan as yet, however, the overall plan of the specifics of the Guangzhou Asian Games tickets and relevant policies would be introduced soon.
Xu Ruisheng, GAGOC Executive Vice Secretary-General and Vice Mayor of Guangzhou City, also announced the latest updates of the preparation for the Asian Games while in Hong Kong. He said that all the works related to the Guangzhou Asian Games were all being advanced with greater intensity and order. At present, the event set-up plan has been decided and 31 enterprises have signed on officially as sponsors with sponsorship money exceeding the previous projections.
He also said that GAGOC was driving the construction of the Asian Games City and various venues ahead. All the new venues and expanded venues were launched according to the schedule. A Design and Production Team for the Opening Ceremonies has been established to work out the key plan for the torch relay.
The 16th Asian Games will be held in Guangzhou from November 12 to 27, 2010. Altogether there are 42 events for this session, the most ever.
