The China National Offshore Oil Corp's super capacity oil refinery project starts operation in June 18. The CNOOC's first mega refinery project, with a capacity of 12 million tons per year, locates in Daya Bay economic and technology development zone. The project is expected to supply Guangdong and other south China's provinces over 7 million tons of high quality gas, diesel and many other petro chemical projects.
On its ceremony, Guangdong and CNOOC signed a strategy cooperation agreement, according to which Guangdong will become CNOOC's strategic development base.
The two sides agreed to expand the existing local companies and the Corp would set up regional headquarter in core cities of the province.
The province will support the Corp to launch projects here on resource exploration, related service and advanced manufacturing. They will also enhance cooperation in LNG shore terminals construction, LNG pipe system and deep water oceanic project machinery, as well as the construction of the Corp's new resource supply station and strategic oil stock base.
CNOOC's investment in Guangdong totals over 120 billion RMB in June, and it will input another 300 billion in the coming five years to its petrochemical projects and businesses in Guangdong.
