The "Road of Asia" delegation joined with the Nepal Handball Association at the beautiful Fewa Lake to promote the 16th Asian Games.

Pokhara is a fantastic place of enchanting natural beauty, situated at the foot of the Himalayan Mountain. It has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning views of Himalayans.

Mr Tej Gurung, President of the Nepal Handball Association, attended the activity, along with officials from the local tourism bureau, renowned athletes and dozens of middle school students.

The "Road of Asia" delegation joins with the Nepal Handball Association to promote the 16th Asian Games.

Ms Zeng Weiyu, Deputy Director of Games Communication & Promotion Department under Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee introduced the Emblem and Mascots of the 16th Asian Games. Mr Gurung shared with the assembled group the story behind 5 Yang - the Mascots for the 16th Asian Games and how Guangzhou is named Yangcheng (the city of legendary/celestial goat).

Promotion materials and leaflets for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games were handed to school teachers to distribution to their students.

Mr Tej Gurung, President of the Nepal Handball Association, shares with the students the story behind the Mascots of the 16th Asian Games.

"It is good to talk to our friends from China and enjoy the joy and freedom of sports despite the cultural differences and it has been a fantastic learning experience for the students," said Mr Gurung.

The event was covered by the major Nepalese media, including the Kathmandu Post; Nepal Republic Media; Sagarmatha TV; Avenues TV and Kantipur TV.
