On October 22, Xu Ruisheng, Executive Vice Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) and Vice Mayor of Guangzhou City, met Mr. Muhammad Azizi, Head of the Iranian Delegation and Mr. Mia Zerifting, Assistant to Chairman of the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee respectively during the Bali Beach Games.
During the meeting, Xu Ruisheng presented a report on the progress of preparations for the Guangzhou Asian Games. He said that Asia is a big united and harmonious family and that the Guangzhou Asian Games will provide a sound sports competition environment to Asian countries and regions and actively promote the exchange of Asian culture.
Xu Ruisheng extended a warm invitation to the two delegations to send their most excellent players to take part in the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.
Both Mr. Muhammad Azizi and Mr. Mia Zerifting remarked that it was a great honor to participate in the Guangzhou Asian Games, a grand Asian sports event. They hoped to be in close contact with GAGOC to remain well informed of the progress of the preparations.
