Recently, the State Environmental Protection Administration released a list of the 7th national beautiful environment towns and the 1st national eco-villages, of which Xiaozhou Village in Guangzhou and Luonan Village in Foshan are named as national eco-villages and 9 towns in Guangdong province, including Sanzao Town in Zhuhai, are national beautiful environment towns.

Xiaozhou Village, located in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou, has long been known for its ancient culture and is reputed as the most beautiful village in Guangdong. In the 600-year-old village, over 50 ancient stone bridges built in different dynasties stand over rivulets running through the village where bluestone streets take you to every corner.

The time between March 18th and March 27th is a period for the State Environmental Protection Administration and the Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau to receive public feedback on environmental protection in those towns or villages nominated.
