'The 1st International Friendship Cities Meeting' is to be launched from March 13 to 15, 2008 in Guangzhou, according to the Foreign Affaires Office of Guangzhou Government on March 4.

It is the first-ever meeting that getting officials and guests from 20 sister cities of Guangzhou together since Guangzhou had her first sister city in 1979.

About 80 officials and guests from 28 Sister Cities of Guangzhou in 23 countries will come to Guangzhou to attend the meeting.

During the three-day visit, foreign officials and guests will visit Guangzhou Development Zone, Nansha Development Zone, Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center (University Town), Zhujiang New Town and other city infrastructures. Besides, more than 40 foreigners in Guangzhou will be granted as 'Friendship Messengers' by Guangzhou Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
