It was learned from Guangzhou Metro Company that it had well prepared the train schedules during the Spring Festival period with the last train postponed for one hour starting from February 4th and one and half hours on the Chinese New Year Eve to provide convenient and fast service for people鈥檚 travel during the Spring Festival period.
One week before the Chinese New Year Eve (i.e. January 28th-February 5th, 2008), the public would go to work as usual. However, in view of the passenger flow increase for festive goods, the train intervals for Metro Line 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be cut down further starting from January 28th. On February 4th and 5th, the traditional flower markets will open so that the last train would be postponed one hour later than usual.
The last train on February 6th (Chinese New Year's Eve) will be postponed one hour and half later than usual.
The whole metro network will prolong one hour's service (the last train synergizes with the flower market hours) on February 7th and 8th (the first and second days of the lunar year).
The whole metro network will run according to the usual schedules on weekends and week days from February 9th to 12th ((the third to the sixth days of the lunar year).
