At 17:00, January 6th, 2008, Guangzhou's first "Olympic Train" 鈥 the T16 left Guangzhou for Beijing. During the same period, another Olympic-themed train, Z13/14 between Beijing and Shanghai, was also launched.

Those attending the launching ceremony for T15/16 included officials from the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, the Ministry of Railways, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Guangzhou Railway Group Co., Ltd and representatives from China Mobile.

The train, which may be said to be a movable Olympics Museum, is decorated with designs related to 2008 Beijing Olympics like FuWa 鈥 mascots of the Games, the Chinese seal and Lucky Clouds. Passengers can also enjoy the theme song of the Games through the radio and Olympic commercials and be overwhelmed by the history and culture related to the upcoming Olympics.

At the ceremony, employees of China Mobile were singing the theme song of 2008 Beijing Olympics 鈥 We Are Ready.

In the meantime, a voluntary service team composed of Youth League members from Guangzhou Railway Group Co., Ltd were passing out publicity materials about Olympics and providing convenient services for passengers.
