Compared with last year, the tax revenue of Guangzhou has enjoyed a rapid rise, released the Guangzhou Office, State Administration of Taxation. The annual tax revenue has increased by 21.1% (RMB 22.558 billion) to reach RMB 129.463 billion. Among them, the automotive industry achieved revenues of RMB 14.348 billion, representing a rise of nearly 80%, both figures taking the first position among Guangzhou's industries.

The main categories of taxes have shown a clear increasing tendency. Income tax from domestic enterprises has increased by 30% to reach RMB 10.2 billion, accounting for 34.4% of the total income tax of the enterprises of Guangzhou; income tax from foreign invested and foreign enterprises, still higher than that of domestic enterprises, had increased by 20.8 % to reach RMB 17.958 billion. Value-added taxes and consumption taxes were RMB 61.576 billion, representing a rise of 18.62% over the same period last year; and the vehicle purchase tax increased by 12.2% to reach RMB 2.326 billion.
