Sources from the Bureau of Civil Affairs of Guangzhou Municipality reported that online appointments for marriage registration would be available early next year.
Currently, appointments for marriage registration can be only made by telephone. However, civil affairs departments have provided trial programs for online appointment and 24-hour automatic voice appointment at the Marriage Registry Office in Liwan District.
Officials from Guangzhou Municipality's Bureau of Civil Affairs said that the service of online appointment and 24-hour automatic voice appointment would soon be expanded to the other marriage registry offices in Guangzhou. It's estimated that by early next year, all of Guangzhou's marriage registry offices can offer services of online appointment, 24-hour automatic voice appointment and phone appointment.
People wishing to make an online appointment can visit http//www.lw.gov.cn/mzj/index.asp (website of the Bureau of Civil Affairs of Liwan District) and receive a serial number after filling in the necessary information. Or, they can make automatic voice appointments by dialing the phone number- 96020222. After making appointments successfully, they can, with the necessary certifications required, go to the Marriage Registry Office of Liwan District at the appointed time for marriage registration. 聽
