Guangdong's further development relies on science and talent, as innovation would be the main force of the province's economic development, said Zhang Dejiang, Party Secretary of Guangdong Province in the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Association conference.

Guangdong should highlight the improvement of innovation capability to sharpen its international competitiveness edge, and strive to be the herald of the country.

As talent is essential for the development of an innovation-oriented province, the government will accelerate the expanding of education and the financial budget will account for over 70 percent of college's education load, Zhang also said.
