Now it only takes 30 minutes, or 10 times faster than before, for airmail customs clearance. The acceleration began on May 29, at the Guangzhou Air Mail Center.

Thanks to the development of the mail staff management system, the speed of airmail customs clearance is dramatically faster. Now the mail is sorted automatically according to postal barcodes and mail that does not need to be checked is dispersed into clearance passages. X-ray machines check the mail that needs to be examined and sends the image back to the customs system. Customs staff will determine whether the mail needs hand-examining or whether it is approved for customs clearance.
