The construction of the first city-to-city metro in China, connecting 2 major cities - Guangzhou and Foshan, will start in June, adding to the already efficient development of the travel system between the two cities. Local businesses are also likely to prosper.
Transportation: 15-minute Road Journey from Foshan to Guangzhou
Hooking up with Longxi Dadao of Guangzhou, Haiba Road and Wu Yakou Bridge were built in 1992 to serve as an important transit passage linking Foshan and Guangzhou. Since then, it takes only spend 15 minutes to travel between Foshan and Guangzhou urban areas through Haiba Road and Zhujiang Channel.
Economy: Guangzhou Consumers Contribute to The Prosperity of Local Catering
Guo Manbiao, Secretary of Party General Branch of Xiabei, C.P.C., says that the convenience of transportation between Guangzhou and Foshan has made the catering trade in Xiabei prosperous. Soon after the Haiba Road was built, major restaurants began to flourish in the area with more than half of the customers coming from Guangzhou city.
